I don’t know what the “this” is that you’re getting through. Mine is having lost Bob, my romantic partner of 26 years, to cancer, and having had my longtime employment taken from me. I’ve survived by using the techniques I describe in this book.
I live in a small town in Central Kentucky, in a funky old neighborhood with a cat and a pit bull with a limp. I’m a writer who has taught writing and good lead singer of bluegrass and Americana and a pretty good harmony singer. I love to grow roses, to make jewelry, to play guitar and sing, and to paint things I use, like shoes, purses, flowerpots, and secondhand furniture. I delight in introducing people who will enjoy talking to each other. I like to make things, and I love to learn new nerd-worthy information and to acquire new skills. I find special satisfaction in making people laugh.
