My favorite meditation scripts and guided meditations

Dr. Joe Dispenza’s guided open-focus meditations changed my life. When I was stressed out of my mind, his guided meditations got me through. Open focus meditation is different from the traditional progressive relaxation visualization, so if you haven’t tried it, try one of his meditations.

To start using Dr. Joe Dispenza’s meditations, I have two favorites. He’s got a 45-minute meditation available for download at his website that focuses on the health of the chakras. My favorite is probably his meditation based on his book You Are the Placebo (Hay House 2015). It’s kind of self-contained na you don’t have to know the book to use it.

Reiki master Raven Keyes has a beautiful description of feeling reiki energy move through you in The Healing Power of Reiki (Llewellyn Publications 2012). She visualizes it as a beautiful golden light made of everything good in the universe.

I like using alpha- and theta- frequency binaural beats to meditate also. My go-to guy is Steven Halpern. Alpha beats are slightly faster and are associated with a waking state of heightened creativity. Theta frequencies are slower, and I use those for falling asleep and other times I’m not going to have to be alert afterwards.

Less well-known, but very useful to me, is Anna Wise, in her book The High- Performance Mind: Mastering Brainwaves for Insight, Healing, and Creativity (TarcherPerigee 1997).
